Oliver Hofmann won this year's START-prize, Austria's most prestigious award for young scientists. In his project, MAP-DESIGN, Oliver and his group aim at predicting novel materials with outstanding properties using quantum-mechanical calculations, as well as providing recipes describing how these materials can be actually obtained in a lab.
